Welcome

Welcome to TravellerHannah! I am Hannah, a French and Spanish speaker from the UK. I started this blog while travelling in Peru, after having left my job and England behind me, to backpack independently, cheaply and solo around South America. I settled in Ecuador and lived in the capital Quito for a year, and now live in Paris.

Read about how I travel, spending as little as possible and doing as the locals, while staying safe. My travel stories will show you how I put my tips into practice to learn how locals live, wherever I go.

Plaza de la Revolucion, Havana, Cuba

Independent travel allows you to gain an authentic experience of the place you find yourself in, and it does not have to be expensive. To travel independently, be prepared but adaptable, be on your guard but open-minded, and have confidence.

Here is how I do it.

  1. Love this! I am so happy to have stumbled upon your blog for many reasons: we both speak English, French and Spanish; we both traveled (are traveling) in South America with the goal to live as many authentic experiences as possible (I’ve lived 5 months with locals in the Amazon forest!) AND I love the focus of your blog and your writing style 🙂 can’t wait to read more from you!

The link to your blog didn’t work but I’d love to read about your Amazon experience. Best wishes

    1. Hi Sarah,
      I´m so glad you agree!
I never understand why people fly halfway around the world to stay in an all inclusive complex. Why bother going all that way to pay more, to not see anything of the place you are in!
Great to hear from a like-minded traveller! Thanks for stopping by xx
