Review: Kiwi Luxury Hostel, Montañita, Ecuador

I lived and worked at Kiwi Hostel as a volunteer. I was there for three weeks so have a good idea of what it is like to stay as a paying guest. You can read about my time in Montañita here.

Hot water:
+ yes, though you won’t want it in hot Montañita!
+ Each room has a private bathroom

Location: Kiwi Hostel is prefectly located just outside of the town centre, which means you can sleep at night! (The bars play music until very late, every night of the week). It is just a short walk to the beach

– no but the owner told me he plans to install them soon

Rooms: All beds are double beds

the rooms have excellent aircon and are nice and bright.

Price per dorm bed: 10 dollars a night. Private rooms are also available. Discounts for long term stays

Security: guests are given a key to the rooms and a volunteer is present 24 hours a day

Wifi: yes

Extras: two communal areas

    1. Hi Santhosh! The cheapest place to stay in Montanita is probably Hidden House Hostel, they have dorm beds from $6. The hostel has a big garden and shared kitchen. Take a look at my post on Montanita to help you plan your visit to the town!
      Quito is more expensive, but you can find cheap hostels at about $8 a night around the Plaza Foch area. Here are some places you shouldn’t miss in Quito:
