I stayed at the gorgeous Calle 11 hostel in Santa Marta, Colombia the night before and after I went on a four day trek to the Ciudad Perdida. It set in a huge villa, and was the ideal place to relax ahead of / after a hike!

+ it is close to the beach and has a supermarket nearby
Rooms
+ absolutley gorgeous! Every room has lots of natural light and is spotlessly clean
+ dorm beds have curtains for privacy
+ each dorm bed has: an individual fan, reading light, and plug socket
+ super-strength aircon is turned on in the evening
+ the mattresses are excellent
Price
dorm beds cost 30.000 COP a night. This is good for a hostel of such a high standard
Security
Calle 11 hostel is secure
+ you have to buzzed in and out of the front door
+ there is a locker for everyone
Welcome
+ the staff are very friendly and willing to help with any question
+ German, French, Spanish and English spoken
Calle 11 is hostel really relaxed
Wifi
+ yes, all over the hostel
Extras
a POOL! Guest BBQ,
Laundry service, massages available, two pet turtles,
and a little feature that I liked was a place for guests to leave unwanted clothes that the hostel dontates to the community.
